Alton Clark Duckett, 76, of Wayton, Ark., died Monday, June 22, 2009 at his home. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper with burial in Wayton Cemetery. Visitation from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

June 23, 1932 - June 22, 2009



Alton Clark Duckett, age 76 of Wayton, Arkansas passed away, Monday, June 22, 2009 just hours before his 77th birthday.


He was born June 23, 1932 at Grandview, Texas, the son of Shelby Delbert and Connie Mae (Hartis) Duckett.


He had worked as a manager for a wrecker service in Texas for many years and was a veteran of the United States Army. He and his wife moved to Newton County on June 14, 1992 from Irving, Texas.


Alton married Bobbie Joe Kelton on Augutst 31, 1957 in Modesto, California. She preceded him in death on June 17, 2006. He was also preceded by his parents and eight brothers and sisters, Little Delbert Duckett, Bennie Darrell Duckett, Dorothy Daniels, S.D. Duckett, Wilburn Duckett, Clovie Nell Francis, Marshall Duckett and Connie Faye Rayburn.


Survivors are his children, Dixie King of Tallahassee, FL, Denise McCormick of Jacksonville, FL, Debra Ann Marett of Grand Prairie, TX, Donna Joe Howe of Lillian, TX, Randy Allen Duckett and Gary Clark Duckett both of Wayton; one brother, Raymond Eugene Duckett of Cedar Creek, TX; 18 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends he gathered over the years.


Funeral services were Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper with burial in the Wayton Cemetery at Wayton, AR with Dale Holman officiated. Visitation was Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper.


Pallbearers were Steve Brown, Rusty Tune, Matthew Slaughter, Dan Marett, Edd Kelton, Scott Richardson. Honorary Pallbearers were Blair Taylor and Yancy Taylor.
