Georg was born in Nellingen, in the Alb-Donau district of Baden-Württemberg. He applied to emmigrate in February 1852. He served in the Union Army from 1861-1865 (Company H 7th regiment of the Illinois Cavalry) and was discharged as a Corporal on November 4, 1865 in Nashville, Tennesee. He and his family lived in Rich Hill Bates Co., Missouri in 1900. He and Amelia lived with their daughter Barbara Aichele Brown's family in 1910 and with his son Fred W. in 1920 both in Driftwood, Woods Co., Oklahoma.
