OCEANA - Mrs. Emily Jane Bailey, 73, died Tuesday in a Beckley hospital after a long illness.

Born March 9, 1909, at Cyclone, she was a daughter of the late Edward Toler (1869-1944) and Rosa "Roxie" Hendricks-Toler (1870-1945).

Mrs. Bailey was a lifelong resident of Wyoming County, a member of the Kopperston Presbyterian Church, and a former member of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Harold Bailey, a daughter, Lillian Ruth Bailey; four brothers, Arnold Richard Toler (1910-1956), Alfred Toler (1895-Deceased), William Ashford "Ash" Toler (1905-Deceased) and James "Dewey" Toler (1899-Deceased) and two sisters, Mary Toler-Bailey (1904-Deceased) and Isabelle Toler-Bailey (1907-Deceased).

Survivors include her husband, Thomas Harris Bailey (1909-1987); two daughters, Joy Bailey-Tyree of Kopperston, and Barbara Bailey-Wallace of Brooklyn, Mich.; a sister, Alice Toler-Massey of Glen Daniel; two brothers, Roston "Ross" Toler (1908-Deceased) of Logan, and Walter Toler (1897-Deceased) of Ocala, Fla.; two grandsons, and two great-granddaughters.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Kopperston Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Judd Alford officiating, assisted by the Rev. Roy Lester and Elder Dick Goodwin. Entombment will be in Palm Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at Matheny.
