ATKINSON, Robert C. 92, passed away May 25, 2007. Robert was born July 9, 1914 in Dayton, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Navy serving on the U.S.S. Intrepid in the South Pacific during WWII. He married his wife, Ernestine, on September 21, 1940 and after being discharged from the Navy, they moved to AZ in 1948. He and his wife opened and built a successful business, Maico-Atkinson's Hearing Aid Center. Robert leaves behind his loving wife, Ernestine; two sons, Robert W. Atkinson and Thomas D. (Anne T.) Atkinson; grandchildren, Christopher R. (Rachael) Taylor and Kevin C. Taylor; great-grandchildren, Nicholas R. Taylor and Owen C. Taylor; niece, Jill (Steve) Coulter and many other nieces and nephews. Graveside services for Robert will be Saturday, June 9, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at South Lawn Cemetery, 5401 S. Park Ave. Immediately following the service, the family would like to meet friends at the Arizona Inn to celebrate Robert's life. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in memory of Robert to your favorite charity. Arrangements entrusted to ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel.
