I LOVE MY DAD

With Tearful Eyes and Sinking Hearts

We have a life that was paid for in advance ~ Through the difficult and dedicated efforts of a loving father & mother who traded the best years of their own life to make sure we'd have the best years of ours ~
Dad & Mom, this will never be forgotten, your love and sacrifice will always be remembered

I find myself wondering...Did I give you your due....For all that you've done for me ~ Did I ever thank you? ~ For all of my childhood memories ~ For helping me deal with life's stresses ~ For helping me accept my defeats ~ And celebrate my successes? ~ Or for teaching me the value of hard work, Good judgement, courage, and being true ~ The laughter, smiles, and quiet times we've shared ~ Did I ever thank you? ~ You taught me right from wrong....I hope you know how much you're loved and appreciated ~ I hope you, instinctively, knew it all along ~
Love always and forever, your #1 daughter Colleen

He was the beautiful son of Anthony & Mary {Tierney} Miller ~ Devoted husband of Rose Carol {McElhiney} Miller ~ Loving Father of Colleen, Sandra and Francis Jr. {3 of your 4 children who will be always grateful, and love you very much} ~ Cherished Grandfather of Jessica, Bridget, Anthony, Frank, Melissa, Jackie, & Heather ~ Precious Greatgrandfather of Makayla, Aidan, Paisley, Frank, Mike, Anthony, Craig, Cheyenne, Warner, Devin, Courtnay, Jeffrey, Sabrina, Sabella, Amy ~ The brother of Anthony, James, & Joseph ~ His favorite color was yellow and his favorite music was country, especially the older songs ~ He would give you the shirt off his back whether you needed it or not ~ He didn't think anything of working 2 jobs to make sure we had what we needed ~ He was a hard worker ~ He had his first job by the time he was 15 years old, and never stopped working until he retired, and that's because he had gotten sick ~ He never took a day off, and maybe took a vacation a handful of times ~ If ever a man provided for his family, it was my Dad ~ He helped out many people in the family countless number of times, he did this and asked for nothing in return, nor did anyone offer ~ But that is how he was, a very generous, honest, and remarkable man. No-one can fill my fathers shoes, and he is greatly missed~

My Dad never ever said "Good-Bye" it was always "See you later" ~ So what I want to say to you my loving Father is "I will see you later cause this is not Good-Bye" ~

~ I Love You Dad ~ ^i^

****Remembered Joy****
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free!
I follow the plan God laid for me.
I saw His face, I heard His call,
I took His hand and left it all...
I could not stay another day,
To love, to laugh, to work or play;
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
And if my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss...
Ah yes, these things I, too, shall miss.
My life's been full, I've savoured much:
Good times, good friends, a loved-one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief—
Don't shorten yours with undue grief.
Be not burdened with tears of sorrow,
Enjoy the sunshine of the morrow.
