Born March 8, 1918, Herbert A CLARK Sr. married Marguerite Bernice HOLSTEAD on July 14, 1940 ,in Painesville, Ohio. They had two children, Herbert A Jr. and Geraldine L (Cecil) BRADLEY.

He was the son of Fred Elbert CLARK and Lois Luella BANCROFT. His siblings: Clayton Leroy CLARK, Alfred R CLARK, Fred Elbert CLARK Jr., Bonnie Lavera FROHMAN, and Althea L SMITH.

As a military chauffer for the White House, Specialist CLARK received several letters of commendation. He served in the Army 18 years.

Military services were conducted at Arlington National Cemetery November 12, 1966.

A memorial in Herbert's name is on a stone with his wife, in Evergreen Cemetery, Painesville, Ohio, but it is noted that he is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
