Washington Carroll died while he was held captive in a Union Prison during the Civil War. He is actually buried in the Rock Island Confederate Cemetery. This Cemetery is part of the Rock Island National Cemetery. The Confederate Cemetery is Managed as one Cemetery. If you look at the Rock Island Confederate Cemetery you will find his monument. He is listed in 2000 as in the National Cemetery, than in 2004 they put his monument in the Confederate Cemetery.

Washington B Carroll was the son of Richmond Carroll and Sally Driver Carroll, he married Martha L Mathis she was born May 7, 1810, and died June 9, 1836 Carroll County, Mississippi, and is buried in Key Cemetery, Carroll County, Mississippi.
