Clifteen Alford Boutwell

Mr. Clifteen Alford Boutwell, age 83, of Vancleave, MS, died Wednesday, December 25, 2013. Mr. Boutwell was born on September 20, 1930, and was a longtime resident of the coast. He was a retired blacksmith from Ingalls Shipbuilding and was of the Baptist faith. His services to the community included President of the Vancleave Volunteer Fire Department, Softball Coach of the Vancleave Girls Youth Association and President of the Lake O Pines Homeowners Association.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Betty Ann McCormick Boutwell, mother, Frankie Boutwell Standingwater, father, Clifton A. Boutwell, brothers, Ronnie Boutwell, Robby Boutwell and Danny Boutwell.

Survivors include three daughters, Donna M. Boutwell of Vancleave, MS, Melanie A. Boutwell and Patti L. Boutwell, both of St. Martin, MS, son, Michael K. (Teresa) Boutwell of Brandon, MS, two sisters, Diane Calcote and Linda Harper of Jayess, MS, three brothers, Edward Boutwell, Terry Boutwell and Jerry Boutwell, all of Monticello, MS, three grandchildren, Kevin M. (Courtney) Boutwell, of Brandon, MS, Kelly A. Boutwell of Starkville, MS and Lindsey N. (Joshua) Shearer of Pearl, MS and four great-grandchildren, Miles and Molly Ann Boutwell and Brooklyn and Audrey Shearer.

Visitation will be on Saturday, December 28, 2013, from 10 am until 12 noon, with a 12 noon church service, all at Fort Bayou Baptist Church in Vancleave. Burial will follow in Vancleave #1 Cemetery. Brother Pete Reynolds will be officiating the service. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall of the church. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
