Lawrence 'Ted' Benard Bailey

Lawrence "Ted" Benard Bailey went home to be with the Lord on August 29, 2013. He was born to William "Tick" and Madie Bailey on March 12, 1918 in Escatawpa, MS. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Cochran Bailey, his parents, sister and bother-in-law Jake and Willie Cunningham, brother Willard Bailey, brother John Bailey, and sister-in-law Lorrie Fountain, twin sister Lottie Bailey, father-in-law and mother-in-law Walter and Lanie Cochran, and son-in-law Danny Coleman.

He is survived by daughter Dottie Coleman, daughter and son-in-law Alice and Jack Shoemake, grandsons Wade Shoemake, Andy (Joy) Shoemake, grandsons Jackson and Javin Shoemake, sister and brother-in-law Virginia and Edward Beckham, sister and brother-in-law Bettie and Clinton George, sister-in-law Louella Bailey and many nephews and nieces, great nephews, great, great nephews and nieces and thirteen great, great, great nephews and nieces.

He was a founding member of Trinity Bible Church. He retired from International Paper Company and also served in the U.S. Army during World War II, participating in the Allied invasion on D-Day.
Services were held at Trinity Bible Church on Saturday, August 30, 2013 with interment following at Cross Roads United Methodist Church Cemetery, Reverend Perry Smith officiating. Pallbearers were Jake George, Taylor George, Maurice Hulbert, Brandon George, Mike Havard, and Stennis Havard. Honorary pallbearers were Tracy George, William Cunningham, and Ronnie Bailey.
Arrangements were by Heritage Funeral Home, Escatawpa-Moss Point, MS.
