Son of Gabriel Parker and Lucy Reeves, he married Mary Jane Willis Ryan on September 21, 1882 in Jackson County. Mary Jane died from burns she received in 1883. One daughter, Emma.
On Sept 12, 1889 he married Virginia Ann Cruthirds.
John and Virginia were the parents of, Nora Zoahdell Parker, John Iver Parker, Susie Vaughn Parker, Eva Pearl Parker, Herman Clinton Parker, Alice Rachel Parker, Samuel Earl Parker, Lucile Amelia Parker, Frank James Parker, Annie Jane Parker, Edward Ezar Parker, Austin Aaron Parker, and Norman Nathaniel Parker.
