Dorothy Frances Cox, 90, of Pascagoula, Miss, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012 in Pascagoula. She was born on January 12, 1922 in Biloxi, Miss. to the late John and Ida Olsen, and has lived in the Pascagoula area for many years. She was a member of Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church in Pascagoula.
She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband Ray Gillian Cox, two brothers, J.D. Olsen and Charles L. Olsen; two sisters, Helen Grace Olsen and Patricia Ann Olsen, and her long-time friend Harry Price.
Survivors include her children, Michael Cox, Susan (Elliott) Cox Bloxom, Greg (Ann) Cox, and Brad (Regena) Cox; brother Donald (Katherine) Olsen; two sisters, Mary Olsen Wilson, and Diane (Al) Higginbotham; a sister-in-law, Dvonne Olsen; eight grandchildren, Amy Hodges, Tyler Cox, Jennifer Clark, Crystal Green, Brandon and Brian Cox, Elliott and Andrew Bloxom; twelve great grandchildren, Hunter, Graydon, and Hansen Hodges, Justin, Kaitlyn, and Lauren Clark, Molly and Evan Cox, Rylee and Blake Green, Aiden Cox, and Elliott James Bloxom.
In lieu of flowers, an offering can be made in Mrs. Cox's memory to the St. Vincent DePaul Society or to Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church, Pascagoula, Miss.
The family would like to offer special thanks to the following; Dr. John DeGroote, The Johnson House of Moss Point, Miss., her personal care home, and devoted neighbor, Doris Barber.
Pall-bearers will be Elliott and Andrew Bloxom, Brian, Brandon, and Tyler Cox, Gray Hodges, Neal Clark, and Jimmy Green.
Visitation for Mrs. Cox will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. and subsequent interment at Cox-O'Neal Family Cemetery in Beatrice.
