Our wonderful father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend, John Ransom Gakle, passed away July 9, 2006 at his home, with his children by his side.
He was born June 2, 1916 to Louis Lesser and Pearl Bentley GAKLE, in Ontario California , the oldest of 4 children. John attended school in Chino, graduating from Chino High school, and then attending Chaffey College. After graduating from Chaffey, he was hired by Douglas Aircraft, where he was employed for 42 years.
John married his sweetheart, Phyllis Alice Lawrence in 1939, and into their family were born 7 children, 5 of whom they raised to adulthood.
He was preceded in death by his sweetheart, Phyllis, sons Roger, Robert, and John, one sister, Fannie King, a grandson, John McArthur, and a son in law, Howard Miller.
John is survived by 4 children, Cheri Miller, Kathie (Craig) McArthur, Kirk Gakle, and Laura (Forrest) Eastman, a sister, Louise Higgins and a brother Louis Gakle.
