William E. "Bill" VanAlstyne, 43 of Carbondale, Colorado formerly of Cullom, died on Monday, January 7, 2008 at 12:40 PM in Three Forks, Montana.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at 11:30 AM at the Martin-Burke Funeral Home in Cullom, with Msgr. Thomas Mack officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until the hour of service, Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Cullom. The family suggests memorials be directed to an education fund for his daughter in care of Vectra Bank Aspen.

Bill was born on June 4, 1964 in Normal, IL a son of James B. and Margaret A. (Ginter) VanAlstyne.

He is survived by one daughter: Alexandria C. VanAlstyne of Carbondale, CO. His mother: Margaret VanAlstyne of Cullom, IL. Two sisters: Mary Jo (Joe) McBride, Jacquelyn (Tim) Goscha of Rifle, CO and one brother: Michael VanAlstyne of Fort Collins, CO. One niece: Kiley, two nephews: J.D. and Aidan all of Fort Collins, CO, his step paternal grandfather: Warren Crawford of Cullom, and three aunts. He was preceded in death by his father: James B. VanAlstyne.

Bill graduated from Tri-Point High School in Cullom and attended Kankakee Community College specializing in Welding. In Aspen and Snow Mass Village, Colorado he had been employed as the supervisor of maintenance engineering at several hotels. Most recently he had been employed as a welder. Bill's interests were fishing, elk hunting and skiing.
