Nathaniel Manuel "Nathe" Eason was a brickmason, farmer and blacksmith. In the early 1870's, he married Sarah Ann Smith. They lived in an old log cabin on top of "Eason's Hill and in the 1890's, he built a large two story house located on Hwy. 5. Their home no longer exists, much development has changed the landscape with a shopping center, mini warehouses and housing projects. He was a life-long member of Berea Church of Christ, serving as a deacon. The church moved to a new location on Hwy. 5 in the 1930's, now known as Antioch Church of Christ.
