The Van Houten family were owners and occupied what was the original home of Mead and Henrietta E. (Smith) LeSueur from 1921 to 1928. It was originally located on Pate Road, near Bolingbrook, Monroe Co., GA. Over the years the house was owned by many other families and they were the Cabaniss, Braswells, Smiths, Pates, Andrews, Martins, Jones, Butlers and Sorrells. The LeSueur family were descendants of the "French Huguenots," who had fled from France because of religious precautions. There is an article (including photo) in the "History of Monroe County, GA" listed in Architectural Heritiage of Middle Georgia of the Nineteenth Century and it's classified as "important."
