Former Perry Grocer dies at his Home in Castile
Castile, June 12 (Special) — Columbus P Andrus is dead.
Mr. Andrus ran a grocery store in Perry for 25 years, and held many positions of trust in the village. In 1846, he married Miss Clarissa Billings of Castile and celebrated his golden wedding ten years ago. Only one person who attended the celebration is now living.
Mr. Andrus is survived by his wife and daughter, Mrs. Cole and an adopted daughter, Mrs. J. W. Graves of Detroit, Mich [Caro, MI]. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow.

C. P. ANDRUS' FUNERAL
CASTILE, June 12 (Special) —The funeral of Columbus P. Andrus was held this afternoon from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mortimer N. Cole. Rev. Ross Matthews officiating. Mr. Andrus was born in Shaftsbury, Vt., in 1822 and came to Rochester when a child, on the old Erie canal. He was a proprietor of a grocery store in Perry for 25 years and occupied many positions of trust. He was one of a family of nine, all of whom are dead, with the exception of one brother, David of Perry, who is 82 years old. He was married in 1864 to Clarissa E. Billings. Ten years ago they celebrated their golden wedding. Five years ago they came to Castille to reside with their daughter, Mrs. Cole, who gave a reception in honor of their 60th wedding anniversary Nov. 12. He is survived by his wife and daughter, Mrs. Cole, and an adopted daughter, Mrs. J. W. Graves of Detroit, Mich. [Caro, MI]
