Inyo Independent of 30 Apr 1881 p. 2 shows death notice and obituary for Elizabeth McCrosky, identifying her correct date of death as 21 Apr 1881: "Died. [...] At Bishop Creek, Inyo County, Cal., April 21, 1881, Mrs. Elizabeth McCrosky, in the 50th year of her age. […] Mrs. Elizabeth, the esteemed wife of Mr. W.G. McCrosky of this town, died last Thursday about one o'clock in the afternoon, in her 50th year, after a brief sickness from the neuralgia in the head, terminating in a congestive chill. Mr. McCrosky and his family were among the early settlers in this valley, and are highly esteemed by the entire community. She leaves seven children, the youngest about 14 years of age; and one grandchild left an infant in her charge by its mother, some four years ago. The funeral service was held at the Baptist church on Friday at 2 o'clock. The house was filled with sympathizing friends, many standing without want of room. Rev. A. Clark preached a very impressive discourse... Bishop Creek, April 25th, 1881."
