The son of John B. & Christina (Butt) Biesecker, in 1860 he was a farmer living in Hamiltonban Township, Adams County, Pennsylvania, although he is in the 1863-65 draft registration residing in Highland Township, Adams County. He stood 6' 0" tall and had dark hair and blue eyes.

A Civil War veteran, he enlisted at the stated age of forty-three in Chambersburg March 6, 1865, mustered into federal service there March 15 as a corporal with the 87th Pennsylvania Infantry in the second organization of Co. K, and honorably discharged with his company June 29, 1865.

He married Amelia Walter and fathered Minnie (b. 07/05/70), Harry E. (b. 04/23/72), Calvin (b. @1875), Nora Belle (b. 10/04/76), Mary Alice (b. 06/08/79 - married Paul Clodque), Mary L. (b. @1880), and Frances (b. 09/28/81 - married William J. Thomas). In 1870, he was living in Franklin Township, Adams County, but by 1900 was residing in Allegheny Township, Blair County, where he died from "lobar pneumonia."
