Mr. Bigelow retired as a salesman from Curry, Canan and Co. of Altoona in 1968.
He was born Aug. 31, 1903, in Huntingdon County, the son of David Young and Martha (Orner) Bigelow. He married Katharine Elizabeth Parsons on April 12, 1924, in Cumberland, Md. She died Oct. 5,1992.
Surviving are a daughter, Eleanor R. Zindler of State College; four grandsons and three great grandchildren.
Also surviving is a sister, Margaret Shafer of Rosemont, Ill.
Mr. Bigelow was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he was a five-term council member and twice past president, and was a former Sunday school teacher and superintendent. He was also past president of the Church Men of St. Paul Lutheran Church and a cluster representative of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
He also served as a volunteer at Allegheny Lutheran Home, Hollidaysburg, and was a member of AARP.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Warren H. Replogle Funeral Home.
BIGELOW - Services for Walter Israel Bigelow of Blair Tower will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at WARREN H. REPLOGLE FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Walter J. Emswiler. Interment at Carson Valley Cemetery.
