Memorial services will be held at 2 P.M. Thur. at our Karlstad chapel with Pastor David Riveness officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Thur. Interment will be at the Oslo Cemetery near Halma at a later date. Military honors will be accorded by the Karlstad American Legion Post #445.
Henry Norman Bengtson, the son of the late Noah and Olga (Johnson) Bengtson, was born on November 25, 1918, in Spring Brook township of Kittson County, near Karlstad, MN. He attended and was confirmed in the Oslo Lutheran Church and went to the Spring Brook Township School. He enlisted in the military and proudly served our country during WWII in the Army. He spent time in the invasion of North Africa and Italy, and received many honors. He was honorably discharged after the war in 1945. He met and married Lorraine M. Stallock of Strandquist, MN., August 17, 1949, in Greenbush, MN. They made their home in Karlstad. Henry was well know around Karlstad and Greenbush for his mechanical ability and when he retired he enjoyed his woodworking. He proudly served as Post Commander for the Karlstad American Legion for many years. He has resided at the Karlstad Healthcare Center since January of 2010, and passed away there Sunday morning, August 1, 2010, at the age of 91 years, 8 months and 6 days.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; one son: Samuel (Penny), of Johnannesburg, MI; one daughter: Maureen (Brad) Nelson, of Aitkin, MN..; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother: Larry (Esther), of Shepherd, MT.; one sister: Florence Clark, of Williston, ND.; in addition to several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.
