Alva E. Baker, 78, 634 Garfield Ave., died at 4:30 a.m. today in City hospital after several months illness.
He leaves the widow, Mrs. Florence Baker, four daughters, Mrs. Charles Foust, Lancaster, Mrs. William Hoffman, Stoutsville, Mrs. Daniel Irvin, Lancaster, and Mrs. Harold Clark, Dayton; two brothers, Charles Baker, Lancaster and Rev. J. L. Baker, Deerville, O.; one sister, Mrs. Jennie Osborne, Lancaster; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The body was removed to the Frank E. Smith funeral home. Arrangements for services will be announced later.
