Aged 19.
Son of John & Frances "Fanny" Mee, of 23, Bentwick Street, Mansfield.

Note.
The 9th (Glasgow Highlanders) Battalion was formed from a former Territorial Army unit. They wore the Black Watch tartan kilts, distinguishing them from the remainder of the HLI, who wore Mackenzie tartan trews.

Death Certificate.
Joseph Mee, aged 19, a bachelor, a Private in the 2/9 Battalion, Highland Light Infantry, died at the Curragh Military Hospital, on 1 September 1917.
The cause of death was Cerebro-Spinal Fever, 3 months, certified.
