Myrtle Brown
GASTONIA - Myrtle Porter Brown, 87, of 531 Country Club Road, Brevard, formerly of Gastonia, died May 24, 2008, at Brian Center in Brevard.
She was a native of Kershaw County, S.C., daughter of the late Charlie Martin and Mamie Etta Epting Porter.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia with the Rev. James A. Lowery officiating.
Visitation will be 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Carothers Funeral Home in Gastonia.
She was a homemaker and a member of Chapel Grove Baptist Church. The family of Ms. Brown wishes to express thanks to the Brian Center of Brevard and to Hospice of Brevard for the care given to Ms. Brown.
Survivors include brother, Furman R. Porter and wife Nell of Columbia, S.C., also by a special niece, Diane Porter of Columbia, S.C.
She was preceded in death by parents; husband, James W. Brown; son, Kenneth Brown and brother, Roger Porter
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chapel Grove Baptist Church, 716 Camp Rotary Road, Gastonia, NC 28052
