Pearl Annetta Meharg, daughter of John and Esther Meharg, was born near Bunker Hill, KS on Dec 8 1898, and passed away at Pratt Hospital Dec 7 1946 at the age of 49 years, 11 months, and 29 days. She was educated at the Russell public schools, graduating from high school as valedictorian of her class and taught school in and near Russell. She was converted at an early age and united with Shannon Friends church. She lived a consistent Christian life and was always faithful in teaching Sabbath school and acting as pianist at church services. In the year of 1918 she was united in marriage with Ira W Chenoweth. To this union 4 children were born: Floyd Alva, Lawrence Dean, Kitty Marie and Audrey Eileen, all of Haviland. They moved to Haviland in 1923 for further schooling, both attending Friends Bible College. She was a faithful and affectionate wife, a loving mother, and a kind and thoughtful neighbor, always so considerate of those in need, never tiring in anything to make others happy. In all her illness, she was the most patient sufferer, never murmuring a word of complaint during all her months of sickness. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, four children, three grandchildren, her father John Meharg of Bunker Hill, two sisters Mrs Ethel Berry of Hoisington, and Mrs Hazel Wilson of Nampa ID, a brother Ray R Meharg of Bunker Hill, and many relatives and friends.
