Feldpausch, Doris M. Okemos, MI Formerly of Portland, MI Age 93, was reunited with her parents and husband in Heaven on Monday, April 12, 2004. She was born on May 31, 1910 in Portland the daughter of Frank and Rose (May) Fineis. Doris spent the majority of her life in Portland. She completed the eighth grade and worked at Slant and Slant Shirt Factory. She attended several grange hall get-togethers in the area. She met her husband, Joe Feldpausch at a box social and were married in 1940. Joe built a beautiful brick home for them on Pleasant Street. Doris was a devoted wife and mother and an excellent housekeeper. She spent a lot of time canning the fruit and vegetables from their bountiful garden. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the Women's Relief Corps. Her hobbies included crocheting, playing cards and bingo and baking. She was well known for her home-made bread and crumb cookies. Joe and Doris spent several winters at their vacation home in Lakeland, Florida until Joe's passing in 1979. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Beatrice Delaney, infant brother, Norman. Surviving are her children, John "Jack" (Roxanna) Feldpausch of Portland, Judith (James) McCarthy of Stanton, and Barbara (Timothy) Beech of Okemos; 9 grandchildren, John Feldpausch, Mark Feldpaush, Penny Christensen, Pat Feldpausch-Weygandt, Doug McCarthy, Sue Mussat, Jenny Zackrison, Ryan Beech, and Jessica Beech; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Charles D. Hall. Pastor at 11 AM, Friday, April 16, 2004 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Rite of Committal following at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland from 2-4 and 7-9 PM Thursday. The Rosary will be prayed at 8 PM Thursday.
