He married first, Emily Hobson, Arkansas in 1886, as per Family Tree, which says she died ca 1911-12, probably in AR, as they were in 1910 census there. They had several children, among them, in 1910 census: Susan; M.E.J.; Mary L; S.A.T.; M.R.J; S.N; L.A. J.L., then 1910: Lizzie, 23; Emma 22; Alice 18; Nora 15; Lela 13; Jesse L 10 and Ola 8.
After Emily's death, he married Maryetta Savanah YORK, dau of Zachary Taylor and Eula E Lloyd YORK.
Sometime between 1910-1920, he came to Antlers, Pushmataha Co. OK where he and his wife, Savanna, were enumerated in 1920, with children, Eddie, 8; Willie, 6; Ruby 4; J.D. 9mos; then by 1930, in Pottawatomie Co, OK, they had added Lila May, Norma H, and Dora F,1yr 8mos.
In southeastern Oklahoma marriage records, at Darwin, his name was listed as a "Free Will Baptist minister" who performed marriages there. Nothing is known at this time where he was ordained, or of his ministerial labors.
