James Alvin Ikner - a 68 year-old native of Mobile and resident of Wilmer passed away at his home on Sunday, January 9, 2011. Mr. Ikner was a veteran of the United States Navy and was a member of Camellia Baptist Church. He was the consummate family man and whose life can be summed up in one word "Legend." Mr. Ikner is survived by his wife of 31 years, Patricia Ann Woodham Ikner; children, Angela Lynn Weaver (Allen), Pamela Ikner Boykin, Robert Scott Smith, Sr. (Brandi), and Michelle Collins (Albert); brother, Darron Ikner (Margaret); 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from Camellia Baptist Church in Semmes on Thursday, January 13, 2011, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Wednesday, January 12, from 5-8 p.m. Interment will be in Camellia Baptist Church Cemetery.
