                                      CHARLOTTE ALIFF

     Charlotte Nancy Steele Aliff, 46, of Glen Daniel, died
Friday, June 3, 1994, in a Beckley hospital following a
long illness.
     Born Nov. 27, 1947, in Hammond, Ind., she was the
daughter of Howard Steele of Schererville, Ind. and
the late Jewell Young Steele.
     Mrs. Aliff spent her childhood in Indiana, graduating
from Dyer Central High School in Hammond. She has
been a resident of Glen Daniel since 1984, was a mem-
ber of the First Church of God at Lester and worked in
the Dietary Department at Raleigh General Hospital.
     Other survivors include her husband of 25 years,
Donald R. Aliff at home; two sons, Frank Aliff and wife
Amy of Overland Park, Kan. and Michael Aliff of Glen
Daniel; two daughters, Joyce and Judi Aliff, both of
Glen Daniel; a grandson, Michael Allin Wayne Aliff;
two brothers, Bruce Steele and Jerry Steele of Wal-
cott, Ind. and a sister, Joyce Humphrey of Kansas City,
Kan.
     Services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Melton Mortu-
ary Chapel with Rev. Dale Birchfield officiating. Burial
will follow in Calfee Cemetery, Mount Tabor Road,
Beckley.
     Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the
funeral home.
     Arrangements by Melton Mortuary, Beckley.
