             Akers Funeral 2 p.m. Friday

Final rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Sophia Baptist Church for Mrs. Marjorie Zina Sturgill Akers, 24, of 131 East Main Street, who died in a local hospital Tuesday night. Death was attributed to a kidney infection.

The Rev. Dewey Wilson will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Johnson Meador. Burial will be in Calfee Cemetery at Mount Tabor.

The body will be removed from Calfee Funeral Home at 2 p.m. today to the residence of her sister, Mrs. Ruth Pennington, of Farley Hill.

Born at Mount Hope, she was the daughter of Lester and Donna Sturgill. She was married to Tracy Garland Akers four years ago and lived at Mabscott until they moved to Beckley two months ago.

She was a graduate of Mark Twain High School and a member of the Sophia Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her father, Lester Sturgill, of MacAlpin; five brothers, Clyde Sturgill, of New York, Lawrence Sturgill, of Hot Coal, and Leon, Herman and Ronald Sturgill, all of MacAlpin; six sisters, Mrs. Pennington, Mrs. Walter Lafferty, of Beckley, Mrs. Arthur Shrewsbury, of Stotesbury, and Gaynell, Neola and Mary Lou Sturgill, all of MacAlpin.
