                     Bailey Funeral To be Tomorrow

                        Superintendent Died Sunday

     Services for Samuel D. Bailey, 45, of Tams, who
died in a local hospital Sunday morning after an ill-
ness of six weeks, will be conducted at the Baptist
church at Tams tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.
     He was born at Wahatchet, Tenn., on March 24,
1893, the son of J. C. Bailey. Bailey, a former resi-
dent of Beckley had been living in Tams for two
years.
     Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Emma Lynn Bailey,
Tams; son, Otis Jesse Bailey, Tams; daughters, Miss
Margaret Bailey, Tams; and Mrs. Herman H. Harvey,
of Beckley; a granddaughter, Phillis Ann Harvey, of
Beckley; brothers, Henry Bailey, Oklahoma; James
Bailey, Missouri; Charles Bailey, Tenn.; and Lee
Bailey, of Alabama; and two sisters, Mrs. Jim
Simpson, Wylom, Ala.; and Mrs. M. Bagget, of White-
side, Tenn.
     He was a Sunday school superintendent of the
Tams Baptist church and was a member of the
United Mine Workers of America.
     Pallbearers include Bill Hancock, Howard
Blevins, Shelby Deaner, Jack Segall, Bob Deaner,
Bruce Roberts, S. W. Deaner, H. E. Cook, Oscar
Taylor, H. E. Turner, W. T. Turner and Walter Han-
cock.
