spouse: Headman McKenley May
[Marriage certificate 1937]
[Death certificate]
=====================================
Three inaccuracies on the grave-marker:
1. 'Ayres' should read 'Ayers'.
2. Birth-date of 'December 3, 1923' should read
'Dec. 22, 1922'.
3. Married last name, 'May', is dropped, and her
maiden name is used. There is little doubt in
my mind that using Virginia's maiden name of
'Ayers', in any spelling/misspelling , instead of
'May' was not a mistake, but an intentional
act, as Virginia's family (and possibly Virginia
herself) could not rest with the surname of
Virginia's murderer on her grave-marker.
Technically inaccurate, but no mistake.
