She was the chairman of the Republican Women Committee and the Red Cross Chapter of Calhoun County. She was a charter member of the Calhoun and Jersey Home Extension and volunteered her time as a member and leader for the River Bluffs Girl Scout Council.
At the time of her death at the Illinois Veterans Home, Ada was 95 years, 4 months and 1 day old.
She was survived by 1 son; 2 daughters; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her infant daughters, Ada was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; her mother and father; 1 son, Paul L. "Pete" Aderton; 1 granddaughter, Heidi Parkinson; 2 brothers; and 2 sisters.
Visitation was held on 23 Jan 1994 at Hanks-Gubser Funeral Home in Hardin. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. the following morning at the Hardin Presbyterian Church.
She was buried next to her husband, Paul, who passed away in 1992.
The family requested that memorials, if desired, be made to the new building fund of the church.
