LYMAN ATOR
---Lyman Ator, seventy-seven, former La Plata night Marshall, died at a Kirksville Hospital Tuesday after undergoing surgery. He had suffered a broken hip just below the hip socket in a fall last week.
---Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the Community Presbyterian Church with Rev. Clyde Miller in charge. Interment will be in the La Plata Cemetery.
---James Lyman Ator, son of James P. and Maria Fletcher Ator, was born on August 29, 1882 at Summerhill, Illinois.
---On May 14, 1904, he was united in marriage with Mabel Ella Vaughn in Griggsville, Illinois. On February 10, 1916 they moved to La Plata from Griggsville.
---He is survived by his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Ruby Howk, Mrs. Lucille Lyda of Des Moines, Iowa, Mrs. Pearl Jones of Burlington, Iowa and Mrs. Marie Swearingen of Denver, Colorado; one son, James T. Ator of Des Moines, and seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
---He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
---Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of services.
