Rites Saturday For Mrs. Ambers
Mrs. Lewis (Lila) Ambers, 54, 415 Mandan St, died at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at a hospital in Bismark where she had been a patient since April 13. She had been ill four months. Funeral services will be held from the Boelter Funeral Chapel at 1 p.m. Saturday, the Rev. Alfred Lewiston of Wilton officiating. Burial will be at the Lein Zion Lutheran Cemetery north of Driscoll.
Mrs. Ambers was born Feb. 17, 1910, at Fifield, Wisconsin, a daughter of Melvin and Hattie Fasbender Tarr. She attended schools in Fifield and was married to Lewis Ambers Dec. 28, 1926 at Park Falls, Wis. They lived in Chicago in 1930, in Driscoll until 1934, and in Wing until moving to Bismark about a year ago. Mrs. Ambers was very active in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Wing where she was a charter member of the Ladies Aid and served as president and treasurer. She was instrumental in starting the Sunday School there and at various times was a teacher, superintendent and secretary-treasurer.
She leaves her husband, one son, Harold R. of Sterling, one grandson, two sisters and one brother. One sister and one grandson have preceded her in death.
