She was a member of the first graduating class of Mount St Mary's Academy, Kenmore. In 1938, she married Arthur Joseph Beilein, living first in North Tonawanda NY, in 1954 moving to Olcott. She was a long-time Democratic Party committeewoman, also serving as an election inspector and two terms on the Newfane Town Board in the 1970s. She was involved in her parish activities at St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, as the parish coordinator of religious education for many years and member of the Rosary Altar Society. She was ombudsman coordinator for the Dale Association in Lockport for several years. Her family was active in local basketball lore, with two of her brothers coaching at the college level and a third brother coaching at the high school level, and her son also coaching at a college. One of her brothers served in the US Army, along with their cousins Preston and Robert Niland, whose loss during the D-Day invasion was the inspiration for the movie "Saving Private Ryan".

She was survived by her three sons and six daughters; two sisters, Eugenia "Jean" Higgins and Ina O'Hanlon; 44 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Mary Louise Niland; her husband, Arthur Beilein; and her brothers and sisters, Mary Conley, William Niland, Albertine Mosher, John G Niland, Joseph Niland, Thomas Niland, Sr Frances Niland SSMN, Anne Murphy, James "Mike" Niland, and Gerald Niland.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday March 20, 2000 at St Charles Borromeo Church. Burial was in St Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Newfane.
