ROY FAY COATNEY, SR.
SOUTHWEST CITY, Mo. - Roy Fay Coatney, Sr., 68, of Southwest City, Mo., died on Sunday, May 27, 2001 at 4:35 a.m. at the Grand Lake Villa Nursing Center in Grove after an illness.

Roy Coatney was born on January 15, 1933 at Berryville, Ark. to the late James David and Dessie Lee (Gregory) Coatney. He was a former resident of Southwest City, Mo. for 15 years before moving to Grove, where he lived for six months. He had formerly attended the First Baptist Church in Southwest City, Mo. His wife of 45 years, Edith Coatney, preceded him in death on February 14.

He is survived by three sons, Roy "Pete" Coatney, Jr. of Southwest City, Mike Coatney of Jay, Okla., and Jackie Coatney of Noel, Mo.; three daughters, Almeta Freeman of Noel, Mo., Reta Eames of Gravette, Ark., and Sue Leak of Jane, Mo.; one sister, Opal Alley of Republic, Mo.; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Mr. Coatney will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, at the Southwest City Cemetery in Southwest City.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 30, at the Ozark Funeral Home in Southwest City from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Bobby Overton, Dee Freeman, John Moss, Bobby Cole, Troy Paul Alley and Mike Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Freeman and Shannon Freeman. Military rites conducted by Pineville-Jane American Legion Post 392.
