She moved to Bentonville in 1963 from Mississippi. In 1988, she moved to Pea Ridge for five years. Her hobby was bird watching and hummingbirds. She also enjoyed gardening and was a stained glass craftsman. She worked for Bear Brand Hosiery in Bentonville for several years, and retired from Wal-Mart 100 after 27 years of employment in the personnel department. She was a member of the Wal-Mart Retirement Association and the First Baptist Church in Bentonville. Her husband, Jim Bounds, died in 1998.
