Western Recorder Newspaper (Southern Baptist)---September 19, 1874
Mrs. M. V. Morris, wife of W. B. Morris, near Sulphur Station, Henry County, KY, died of a combination of disease on September 8, 1874. She was born in Robertson County, TN, on January 24, 1827, and remained in Tennessee until she was about nine years of age. She then removed to Simpson County, KY, and lived there until she was fourteen years of age, then moved to Henry County. Mrs. Morris was the daughter of Aunt Jane Straughn.
Sister Morris was the mother of three children โ all boys. Her oldest, now living and married, is twenty-three years of age. The other two were twins, sweet, interesting and sprightly children, who lived only one year from their birth
The mortel remains of the mother now rest quietly and sweetly beside her dear little twins, Willie and Dickey, in the old family burying ground. The dear Bro. Morris is left to mourn his sad loss.
