RINGGOLD, Ga. - George Edward Potter Sr. of here died Thursday evening in a local nursing home. He was 72. Mr. Potter was a Baptist, an engineer and a veteran of World War II. Survivors are his wife, Margaret L. Potter; one daughter, Cathy Lynn Kennedy, Rockwood, Tenn.; George Potter, Jr., California; two sisters, Eileen Moore, Harriman, Tenn., and Alma Cox, Kingston, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Brian Yazzie, Tyler and Cayllen Kennedy, Matthew and Christopher Potter. Graveside services were held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Plowman Cemetery with the Rev. Amanda Miller officiating. Pallbearers were Charles Hill, Troy Hullander, M.J. Whitmire, Sonny Gray, James F. Johnson and Robert T. Benton. Arrangements were by the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.
