BLACKWELL – Hattie Ellen Bennett, 65, of Blackwell, died March 31, 2002, at Via Christi Oklahoma Regional Medical Center in Ponca City.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 9 tonight. The family will greet visitors from 6 to 8.

A memorial has been established with the American Liver Foundation. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Bennett was born Oct. 28, 1936, in Washburn, Mo., to Florence I. (Seibert) and Charley Lee Mahurin. She was raised and educated in Stark City, Mo., and helped raise her siblings.

On Aug. 8, 1959, she married Clemet Junior Sisco in Coffeyville. They made their home in Coffeyville where she was a homemaker. Her husband died Nov. 19, 1976.

On March 2, 1979, she married Vernon Bennett in Wichita Falls, Texas. She worked as a seamstress at Sprague Electric until 1987. She later moved to Mesa, Ariz., and was a seamstress at the TRW factory. In 1999 she moved to Blackwell to be close to family.

Survivors include her husband, Vernon Bennett, Blackwell; a son, Phillip Ray Sisco, Phoenix; a daughter, Pearlie Hale, Wichita; four brothers, LaVern Mahurin, Blackwell, Clifford Mahurin, Winfield, Eugene Mahurin, Garland, Texas, and David Mahurin, Wichita; six sisters, Maxine Cully, Ashton, Margaret Follis, Lincoln City, Ore., Nina Daigle and Rebecca Brooks, both of Winfield, Irene Roskydoll, El Dorado, Ark., and Connie Starlin, Oxford; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
