Joyce Linda Blevins, 46, of Avondale, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at her home.
She was the wife of the late Charles B. Blevins, Jr.
Born in West Grove, she was the daughter of the Irma Doss Munday of Avondale and the late Dale L. Mundy.
Joyce graduated from Avon Grove High School in 1978. She was employed with the Octorara School District as a dietary aide.
She attended Christ Church at the Grove, Avondale. Joyce loved Elvis, NASCAR especially Dale Earnhardt, Jr., gardening and collecting monkeys and pigs. She was a "surrogate" mother to all her children's friends, and a loving and proud grandmother.
Joyce is survived by her mother; a son, Charles B. Blevins, III at home; a daughter, Linda Michelle Blevins of West Grove; a grandson, Jared "Scooter" Blevins-Williams of West Grove; a brother, David Munday of Moyock, NC; two sisters, Janice Munday of Oxford and Judy Laub of Cochranville; and many friends and family.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2007 at the Edward L. Collins Funeral Home, Inc. 86 Pine St., Oxford, where friends and family called from 9 to 10 a.m.
Interment was in the Oxford Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation at PBTF, 302 Ridgefield Ct. Asheville, NC 28806.
