Amedie Champagne, 88, Oklee, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 1994, at First Care Nursing Home, Fosston, Minn., where he had lived since Nov. 4.

Amedie Joseph Champagne was born Oct. 25, 1906, in Red Lake County, Minn., the son of Peter and Idella (Turcotte) Champagne, and attended school in Brooks, Minn. He married
Delima rose Carriere May 25, 1926, in Brooks, and they farmed in the area until 1958, when they moved to Milwaukee and he worked as an upholsterer. They moved to Oklee in 1970 after his retirement. Delima Champagne died Jan. 5, 1983. He married Goldie Boucher Nov. 28, 1987, in Oklee.

He is survived by his wife; sons Elmer, Brooks, and William, Oklee; daughters, Lowella (Mrs. Ronald) Bushaw, Audubon, Minn., Lorene (Mrs. Glen) Westman, Zimmerman, Minn., Dorene (Mrs. Maurice) Cote, Mentor, Minn., and Mrs. Marion Martell, Red Lake Falls, Minn.; a daughter-in-law, Henrietta (Paradis-Champagne) Stich, Red Lake Falls; a brother, Albert, Madison, Wis.; sisters, Louise Mercil, thief River Falls, and Florence Fortier, North St. Paul; Minn.; 39 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; three
great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Onezime; brothers, Arthur, Willie, Walter, and Leon; and sisters, Pearl, Delia, Ellisa, Ida, Cora, Anna and Doria.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Oklee.

Visitation: 3 to 7:30 p.m. today, with a 7:30 p.m. wake service, in Peterson Funeral
Home, Oklee.

Burial: St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Brooks.
