Ralph Patrick Bearns was born in St. John's Newfoundland and was the son of William Munden Bearns and Elizabeth Dealy. He left Newfoundland (NL) after the death of his father with his mother and moved to Kansas where his sister Elizabeth (Bessie) lived and was married to Chas Jenne. He lost contact with his family in NL after 1929 which happened to be the year his mother died. He fought in WWI and according to records I have he was wounded and gased while serving under the Canadian Flag. The records state that in 1940 he was unmarried and in very poor health although he didn't die for 31 years later. According to the cemetery records he died of myocardial failure.
