Doris E. Gicker
Doris E. (nee Forwood) Gicker,78 Lifelong resident of Concord Township, PA, Doris Gicker, 78, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2011 surrounded by family. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she was born on May 22, 1933 to the late J. Harvey and Greta Forwood. She married her lifelong sweetheart Paul on June 27, 1953. Together they raised five children. An active member of Elam Church, she gave selflessly of her time and talents, teaching Sunday School for almost 60 years. She loved baking, sewing and spending time with her family. Pre-deceased by her only son James. Survivors: Daughters Donna Watkins (Woody), Pat Maurer (Bob) and Paula Heckman (Shawn) all residents of Concord Twp. and Carole Lynne Townsend (Lex) of Wilmington, DE; 13 grandchildren; sister Carole Davis of Garnet Valley, PA; brothers Joe Forwood of Chadds Ford, PA and Bob Forwood of Wilmington, DE. Visitation Thursday 6 to 8 PM and Friday 1 to 2 PM in the Elam United Methodist Church, 1073 Smithbridge Rd., Glen Mills, PA 19342. Service 2 PM Friday at the church. Interment: Elam Cemetery In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the United Methodist Women of Elam Church. Arr: Rigby Chadds Ford
