In 1892, her family came to America. Katherine was nine years old at the time. From New York, they migrated to South Dakota where they farmed near Lucas, South Dakota. In 1900, they moved to Naper, Nebraska.
Katherine married Jacob F. Blakkolb on April 14, 1903 at Naper, Nebraska. Together they had four children.
Katherine is survived by four sons, William J, Otto F, Edwin G. and Harry J. Blakkolb.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Blakkolb; and her parents, Frederich and Dorothea Mayer.
