Eva Barbara Ulmer was born on Nov. 29, 1846 at Rohrbach, Cherson, Russia to Jacob Friedrich and Barbara (Perlenfein) Ulmer.

She married Solomon Blakkolb on Sept. 24, 1867 at Rohrbach, Cherson, Russia. To this union ten children were born.

Around 1878, Solomon, Eva Barbara, their children and Eva's mother immigrated to the United States. They settled near Sutton, Nebraska, later living in or near Naper, Nebraska.
