Bertha M. Forbes, age 92, died Friday, September 11, 2009 at St. Joseph Berea Hospital. She was born in Rockcastle County on July 17, 1917 to the late Perry and Rebecca Rice White.

Mrs. Forbes is survived by: her daughters, Edna Lainhart of Berea, Virginia C. Forbes of Lees Summit, Mo., and Wanda (David) Corder of Oak Hill, West Virginia; her sons, James (Donna) Forbes of Rockcastle County, Oscar (Kathy) Forbes of Tampa, Fla., and William Garrett Forbes of Palatka, Fla. 18 grandchildren, 27, great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles (Charlie)Forbes 2 sons, Raymond and Burley Forbes.
