Obituary
Of Jackson, passed away at his home with his family by his side, on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at the age of 97. He is survived by his loving wife, of 75 years, Maxine Putman; three sons, Gary (Jeannie) Putman, Keith (Sharon) Putman and Kevin (Becky) Putman; twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Mr. Putman was one of four children born to Ira and Viola Putman in Vanwert, Ohio. He relocated with his family to Jackson when he was seven and graduated from Jackson High School in 1934. He retired from the railroad after 36 years of service. He was an avid golfer and a proud family man. He touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. A service celebrating his life will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. He will be laid to rest at Roseland Memorial Gardens. The family would like to acknowledge the staff members of Great Lakes Caring for their kind and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Lyle Torrant Center (1175 W. Parnell Rd. Jackson).
