Dorothy Adams nee Srock, 91, of Waterloo, died May 29, 2008, in Columbia. She was born Oct. 19, 1916 in Tibbe, Miss., the daughter of the late Arthur and Louise Srock nee Meisenholder. She was married to the late Thomas Adams. Mrs. Adams is survived by her children Carol Warren of Matewan, W.V., Edward (Melba) Adams of Buffalo, Mo., James (Helen) Adams of Springfield, Mo., Barbara Adams Mallory of Columbia, Candy (John) LaCroix of Dupo, Wendy (Dan) Descher of Highland, Matt (Denise) Adams of San Clemente, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and sister Esther Bryan of Laurie, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Roger Adams; daughter-in-law JoAnn Adams; son-in-law William Mallory; a sister and brothers. Mrs. Adams was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Columbia and the Bible Study Group. She was a Sunday school teacher and was a 26-year breast cancer survivor. Visitation and a funeral service were at Quernheim Funeral Home. She is buried at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery in Waterloo. Memorials may be made to her church or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
