Allen Elmer Dickmann, of Waterloo, Ill., formerly of Cahokia, Ill., born Sept. 13, 1918, in Arnsburg, Mo., passed away Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.
Mr. Dickmann was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Columbia, Ill. He was retired from Carter Carburetor in 1981 and was a U.S. Navy veteran who served in World War II. He was a member of VFW Post 1699 in Cahokia, Ill.
Allen was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Cleta Dickmann, who died in 1992; parents, Arthur Henry Dickmann and Hulda Rose, nee Springer, Dickmann; and two brothers, Burnell Dickmann and Milton Dickmann.
Surviving are his son, Gary (Deanna) Dickmann, of Plainfield, Ill.; two daughters, Janet (Fredrick) Heim of DeLand, Fla., and Sandra (Michael) Springer of Waterloo, Ill.; 11 grandchildren, Wendy, Thomas, Neil and Chad (Angela) Dickmann, Thomas, James, Tammy and Kristen (Pete Langlois) Heim, Matthew Mundy and Christine and Mark (Lindsay) Springer; 10 great-grandchildren, Robbie, Marie, Matthew, Katie and Emily Heim, Austin, Mason, Ryan, Carson and Morgan Springer; a sister, Lorna (Calvin) Bachmann, of Perryville, Mo.; and several sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends and family may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009, at Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Ill., with Reverend Steven Theiss officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Columbia, Ill.
